Dino Teepee Card

Hello!

3d cards are not something that I do alot of.  I need to more often, but usually I’m trying to meet a deadline, and a regular card fits my timeline best.  But for July’s card class, I decided to do a teepee card after seeing this video: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/87468417742226539/.  Cool, right?  Add that to my recent obsession with the No Bones About It stampset, and this is what you get:

How much fun would this have been to receive as a kid???  On the Have a Dino-rrific birthday side, I added the blank circles for writing the to and from.  Everyone seemed to like this at class, even if it’s not necessarily the easiest to put together!  Once you’ve done one or two though, it’s not bad.  Here’s some larger individual photos:

And if you are afraid of trying, don’t be.  To make the teepee, it is 3 pieces of 4″ x 4″ cardstock.  That is not a lot for a 3D project.  Especially if you do it in Whisper White–Use a 12″x12″ page and you’ll get 3 teepees–lots to practice with!

Congratulations with Timeless Love

Hello!

I have a really simple and easy card that we did at this months card class to show today.  I try to do a variety of different occasions at class, and being wedding season, I thought a Congratulations card might be a good one!

And if you need multiples, this is an easy card for that!  Simply mount all three images onto one block (if using clearmount), stamp a few at a time, then emboss them and repeat until you have enough.  Then do your watercolouring one colour at a time!

Congratulations-watercolour.jpg

To add depth when watercolouring, simply add more layers to just a small portion.  And to get the ink for watercolouring, take your ink pad when closed, and squeeze it so that ink smooshes onto the lid.  Then open, add 2-3 drops of water using your Aqua Painters, and paint away.  Just wipe the lid out with a kleenex when done so you don’t get water onto your ink pad.

Congrats Amazing Friend

Hello!

I am back again with another swap card.  This one is done by my business trainer Ronda Wade, who just achieved Platinum Elite level with Stampin’ Up! (the highest level we can achieve!).  Congrats Ronda!

Although simple, this is a beautiful card!  I actually had to look up the embossing folder she used, as I had completely passed it by somehow!  The embossing folder is the Floral Affection folder, the paper is just simple Whisper White layered with the gold glimmer paper.  Perfect right?

Hello Everyone!

I am back with another swap card.  This one is from Bonnie O’Neill.  One of the things that I absolutely love about this one is that it shows that you don’t need a whole lot of material to make a truly beautiful card!  Simply by using stamps, ink and cardstock, Bonnie created a beautiful background!

This card features the new Peekaboo Peach In-Colour and uses the Perfectly Wrapped Stampset.  This stampset–was designed to work with one of our kits–but look how beautiful it is here!

June Thank you Cards

Hello everyone!

I am back today with a really quick and easy thank you card I put in the orders I received the last week of June (some of these people had ordered earlier in the month, so I wanted to do something different for them).

Quick and easy!

Supplies:

  • Banners and Badges stampset
  • Badge punch
  • Thoughtful Banners stampset
  • Dual Banners punch
  • Pool Party Cardstock
  • Whisper White Cardstock
  • A Little Foxy Designer Series Paper Stack
  • Smoky Slate Ink
  • Melon Mambo Ink
  • Pool Party Marker
  • Melon Mambo Marker
  • Jewels Basic Rhinestone

To change the colour of the bird in the cage, first ink the stamp in a light colour like Smoky Slate.  Then, take your marker in the darker colour, and very carefully colour over top using the brush tip on the marker.  “Huff” on it afterwards to remoisten it before stamping.  I coloured in the swing afterwards using the writing tip of the marker.
