Hello with Jar of Love

I finally got around to playing with the Jar of Love bundle for July’s card class, and I have to say I love it!  So cute, and easy to play with!

The possibilities with this set are truly endless!

Unfortuantely, this has to be a quick post as I have a cranky baby and dinner on the stove, but you can find the supplies below, and as always you can purchase these supplies and more in my online store at http://www.lisahenderson.stampinup.net

Love You Lots

I have another swap card to show you today!  This card is absolutely adorable!  And uses one of the most popular hostess sets:IMG_7493

This card is from Betty Button in Milton, VT.  Betty used the Love You Lots hostess set (which you can earn for FREE!–more on that in a minute), the fringe scissors, and the pop of pink designer washi and designer series paper!

To earn this stampset for FREE (and trust me, it is an adorable set worth having), you can earn it in one of two ways.  First, you can hostess a private class or workshop and once the sales reach over $200 (I’ve never had one be less!), you can use your hostess dollars towards the set.  Or, you can place an order over $200 and use the rewards towards the set!

Thank you, Friend

Hostess sets are often looked over, and I even tend to miss them myself!  But this year, I couldn’t resist bringing in the Love You Lots stampset.  It is so cute and easy to use!

We did this card at the July card class, and it was based on a swap card I had received from Selene Kempton.  This was the swap card:

It was a pretty fantastic card to begin with!  So I just wanted to make it my own, but I really loved the colours, so this is what I came up with:

Other than changing the orientation, the other change I made was how I coloured in the frog.  I am fairly certain that Selene used the blender pens on hers and then put Wink of Stella on top.  However, I took mine and actually watercoloured with the Wink of Stella!

To watercolour with Wink of Stella, first take a small acrylic block and stamp it into the ink pad (to put ink on the block).  Then using the ink on the block, use your wink of stella as you would a paintbrush.  It will automatically add glitter, and it just looks so cool!

I have another swap card to show you today.  This card would be absolutely fantastic to mass produce (and it’s so bright and cheerful!).

This card is from Amy Combs in Simi Valley, CA.  It features the Pop of Pink washi tape, metallic foil doilies and sequins, gold thread, and the Pop of Paradise stampset.  Wouldn’t it be a cute card to get in the mail?

Dino Teepee Card

3d cards are not something that I do alot of.  I need to more often, but usually I’m trying to meet a deadline, and a regular card fits my timeline best.  But for July’s card class, I decided to do a teepee card after seeing this video: https://www.pinterest.com/pin/87468417742226539/.  Cool, right?  Add that to my recent obsession with the No Bones About It stampset, and this is what you get:

How much fun would this have been to receive as a kid???  On the Have a Dino-rrific birthday side, I added the blank circles for writing the to and from.  Everyone seemed to like this at class, even if it’s not necessarily the easiest to put together!  Once you’ve done one or two though, it’s not bad.  Here’s some larger individual photos:

And if you are afraid of trying, don’t be.  To make the teepee, it is 3 pieces of 4″ x 4″ cardstock.  That is not a lot for a 3D project.  Especially if you do it in Whisper White–Use a 12″x12″ page and you’ll get 3 teepees–lots to practice with!

Congratulations with Timeless Love

I have a really simple and easy card that we did at this months card class to show today.  I try to do a variety of different occasions at class, and being wedding season, I thought a Congratulations card might be a good one!

And if you need multiples, this is an easy card for that!  Simply mount all three images onto one block (if using clearmount), stamp a few at a time, then emboss them and repeat until you have enough.  Then do your watercolouring one colour at a time!

To add depth when watercolouring, simply add more layers to just a small portion.  And to get the ink for watercolouring, take your ink pad when closed, and squeeze it so that ink smooshes onto the lid.  Then open, add 2-3 drops of water using your Aqua Painters, and paint away.  Just wipe the lid out with a kleenex when done so you don’t get water onto your ink pad.

Don’t forget that Bonus Days are still on, but only until the 31st!  Make sure you place your order today to get your coupons for August!  Visit www.lisahenderson.stampinup.net
